Review: Does a beach house really fit into a city? Can its Parmi compare to its coastal brethren? We ventured to the Beach House CBD to see how it stacked up.
The Beach House CBD perched above the streets, just off the Queen St Mallm is a landmark in the Brisbane CBD. A regular meeting spot at the Maccas downstairs, this pub is one of a list in the city where you can get a genuine pub meal and listen to live music.
Having been to a few Beach House establishments before we popped in here one night before a movie to sample their Parmi. With 5 Parmi variations on offer, and price points in the mid $20’s we had reasonably high expectations.
Unfortunately we were left disappointed with the Parmi. The chicken was not fresh; the crumb breaking away with each cut. There was only a light lashing of napoli sauce and the cheese could of sat out in the sun a little longer to crispen up. The accompanying Ceasar salad was also very heavy, doused in dressing. Chips were of standard quality.
Hats off to the venue, its a great spot to watch the city come alive, listen to live music and enjoy some cold beers, but this Parmi deserves more attention.
Rating - 6.1/10 - In a city with so much competition, there’s no time to sit and relax on the beach.
